Mardi Gras at Disneyland

It’s that time of year to celebrate Mardi Gras. If you’re headed to the parks, here are some fun things you’ll find to do, see, and eat on your visit.

First off, food, food, and more food! What better way to celebrate Fat Tuesday? This year Disneyland is presenting some really fun offerings that look delicious! Here’s what to look for:

Cafe Orleans

  • Monte Cristo Sandwich – battered, fried, then dusted with royal-colored sugar, and served with maple syrup and bacon herb slaw. This is one of my all time favorite meals to eat at the parks!
  • Potato Leek Soup
  •  Lemon Cake Roll-yal – a sponge cake with lemon butter crème and royal-colored frosting

French Market

  • Mardi Gras Coconut Cake – layers of royal-colored sponge cake, pastry cream, and a dusting of coconut flakes.

Blue Bayou 

They will be offering a special Mardi Gras menu which includes Catch of the Day – Meagre. It comes with rainbow cauliflower, potato corn chowder, cilantro purée, and Royal Street Bundt Cake for dessert – pound cake with a pecan praline buttercream center and white chocolate mousse.

You can also enjoy some New Orleans favorites such as a Mint Julep and some Beignets. Both are amongst my favorites. These can found at the Mint Julep bar or at Cafe Orleans.

Be sure to take a stroll through New Orleans Square to get that N’awlins feel and listen to that Jazz music.

Keep an eye out around New Orleans Square as you might see some characters dressed in their Mardi Gras best!

Be sure to grab yourself a pair of fun Mardi Gras ears to celebrate the festivity. These ears can be found throughout the parks.

Also don’t forget to stop by Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen for some extra fun! They will be offering specialty menu items all day, live music, and Mardi Gras King & Queen Contest.
