Disneyland’s Candlelight Processional

Overview by Disneyland:

A Disneyland® tradition that dates back to 1958 at the Disneyland® Resort, the Candlelight Ceremony and Processional will be performed under the stars on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland® Park. This year, performances are scheduled twice nightly on Saturday, December 1st and and Sunday, December 2nd, 2018.
This holiday spectacular is a musical retelling of the story of “The First Christmas” through song and scripture, and features a mass choir as the centerpiece of the show.

The Disneyland® Symphony Orchestra, fanfare trumpets, hand bell ringers and a guest celebrity narrator will join the choir in this joyous holiday tradition. The Candlelight Ceremony has featured a host of outstanding celebrity narrators in the past, including James Earl Jones, Cary Grant, Mickey Rooney, Marie Osmond, Dick Van Dyke, Jon Voight and Gary Sinise to name just a few. Thousands of Guests will view each 45-minute performance.

It’s an absolutely amazing and lovely thing to see. Disney is always very secretive about dates, times and the celebrity guest narrator. Unfortunately seats are only reserved for VIPS such as Club 33 members and invited guests. Expect large crowds as this is a very busy weekend. If you do plan on watching it get there early. I would recommend at least two hours in advance to grab a spot. There are lots of people who get there very early at opening to camp out and grab a viewing spot. That’s how popular it is. Times are not posted anywhere.

Times will most likely begin from around 5:20pm to 5:30pm for the first showing and between 7:35pm to 7:45pm for the second showing.

The Candlelight Choir will parade down Main Street to Town Square. If you can’t get a spot in Town Square grab one on Main Street. You’ll be able to hear everything, see a bit of the stage and see the choir parade down. Below is a video from the view on Main Street.

Hope this helps.

As always, thank you for stopping by – Sabrina
